Every night you dream of how you'll end the world. Every night, you die. Right after character and world creation, in any order, everyone plays this game using the prompts from “First Dream” to describe their dream’s surreal events. Any time you play this game again, one player plays, using the prompts from “The Dream Recurs”.
During the scene, anyone can ask anyone questions about the setting, occasion, and circumstances, even if they aren’t playing in the scene. If some details are not yet clear to you, pass over them—that is the way of dreams.
If an image or moment in your dream seems particularly cool or likely to become meaningful, write it down on a card and put in the middle of the table. Keep adding to it whenever your dream recurs.
Every time you play this game after the first, pick from the list below and say how your dream is different. If you’re snugly asleep on your Hoard, pick three options. If not, pick one. If you’re badly injured and/or overtaxed, each other player picks one, and you describe the results.
Alternatively, change one of your First Dream prompts and dream anew.
When your dream ends, you wake up healed and rejuvenated. You may change or remove one Quality on your card to reflect how your promised Desolation and your pondering of it affects your personality.
However, if you were forced to dream by grievous injury, you can choose this to be your last dream instead, electing to die. Add a new fact to the world as your dream comes true in some way. When you’re done, dream anew as you create a new dragon.
